War is a state of armed conflict and involves the use of armed force between two or more organized armed groups, governmental or non-governmental alike.

Which parts of the UK are no longer under government control? All I see is police and military intervention in response to terrorist and non-terrorist activities. Reactive, not proactive.

That's downtown Los Angeles, right? Fifth and Wall? !!! Are you serious? Surely not! the middle of the street is a little clearer, but, you can't get down the sidewalks through all the garbage, and winos, etc

I call them walkers. Thousands of homeless walking the streets, encamped on the sidewalks, garbage ever. I used to drive through that area every day. As for compassion, I have none for the muzzies. I'm not the one holding them back. That's incredibly sad. Kind of like a zombie sub-city. Aren't there places in L.A. for the homeless to go? I'm not sure I totally understand "compassion". Is that somewhere between pity and sympathy? that's where they WANT to be. if you gave a wino a million bucks, and went back next year, there would be a lot of drunk winos, but he would be living in the cardboard blocking the sidewalk

I wonder why, as a nation, we can't create a better social net and housing services to assist people who find themselves in any number of the horrific situations that they tumble into. There are as many stories as there are homeless. They are people with memories and feelings, and most of them are worthy of consideration. not down there, there isn't. EVERYBODY, without exception, that is down at fifth and wall in los angeles is there because they WANT to be there.

You obviously haven't spent time with these people, or with the people who try to help them. The "homeless" are not like you and me. They actually do want to live that way, and reject efforts to "help" them. The question is rather why we don't round these people up and put them in labor camps. I am one of the people who help them. I've donated service since I was a teenager. You should be ashamed of yourself. if that is the case, you KNOW that what joe is saying is true

I'm not. My own employer services the homeless, too. They're still people, but they live that way for a reason. Yes - usually because of bad luck or mental illness and lack of support. WRONG!! because of their, conscious, willful CHOICE to be a druggie or alcoholic. you can count the number of involunatarily homeless down there on your fingers

Why are you so hateful towards the unfortunate? NO ONE has said anything hateful toward the unfortunate. in the first place, we are NOT talking about the unfortunate. nonetheless, we are simply intelligent enough to comprehend REALITY

Yes - usually because of bad luck or mental illness and lack of support. Their civil liberties are protected by state law. They are entitled to their mental illness, and the lifestyle accruing from it. The support has always been there. They don't want it. it is truly sad that there is anyone who can't, or won't, comprehend such a simple reality

I think you'll find that it's the immigrants who do most of the hating... Not on this forum... If you find speaking freely to be 'hatespeech' perhaps another board might suit your sensibilities better? We comment on what is happening in the real world. Would you really compare comments here with real hate like this... At least eight people were killed after a Muslim mob in northern Nigeria torched the house of a man who tried to save a Christian student accused of blasphemy, police said on Tuesday. “Eight people were killed in the house by the mob over the alleged blasphemy” Zamfara state police spokesperson Shehu Mohammed told media of the incident, which happened on Monday. He said the mob of Muslim students in the town of Talata Mafara were enraged over alleged derogatory comments about the Prophet Mohammed by their Christian schoolmate, who they attacked.
He said the victim was rescued by a passerby, a Muslim who rushed him to the police station for safety. The mob then burned down the house of the rescuer with eight people inside.www.pakistantoday.com.pk/2016/08/23/foreign/muslim-mob-kills-eight-in-nigeria-over-blasphemy/

War is a state of armed conflict and involves the use of armed force between two or more organized armed groups, governmental or non-governmental alike. I note in the MSM that we have... A war on obesity - armed and dangerous thin people using force against fat people A war on want - armed and dangerous haves killing off the have-nots A war on Poverty A war on Cancer A war on Drugs Ad nauseam It's a well worn metaphor, no? War in its true sense is a conflict between nations or a civil war within one.
