Thanks for bringing this thread back into the latest threads list. I can't get into jazz. I just can't get it. I'll try to catch the tunes when I'm back on the PC. Now I'm at the noisy hospital; not the best place to listen.

Now I'm at the noisy hospital; not the best place to listen. I'm the same way about some styles. Jazz was (I think) an off shoot of the Big Band and swing music of the 30s and 40s. I never could develop much appreciation for those styles. My parents has a lot of albums of smooth jazz from the 50s and 60s, so I grew up with it and liked it as a familiar sound. Now, I've learned to like quite a bit of it, but Dex gave me the idea for this thread and no doubt knows more about it than I do. My favorite jazz singer is Diana Krall.
