Who do you think best typifies physical beauty. Can be living or not and a photo would be nice. Since beauty is in the eye of the beholder, we should be able to get a good mix. Criteria for beauty has changed many times throughout history. Please share your thoughts and preferences. Right off, I'll pick 3 classic female beauties. Haile Berry Jennifer Lopez and Audrey Hepburn I'll need to give a little mor thought to the men who might qualify.

lol Beth Pretty shallow I agree. What I'd like to know is what happened to Brooke Shields. She was the standard for beauty when I was a kid but at some point she changed and became ordinary. Look at the difference in just a few years. and now

Well, she's still okay. In the first one, she had hair extensions and quite a bit of makeup. In the second she's about 20 years older. Maybe part of it is that she isn't smiling in the second. She has a really pretty smile. Christie Brinkley has aged well. I doubt she's ever out without make up but she has a lasting beauty, too.

With men, it's harder because "beauty" isn't always an attraction. Robert Downey Jr for instance, seems to improve as he ages - although not beautiful in the traditional meaning of the word. As far as beauty goes, I used to think Peter O'Tool in Lawrence of Arabia was the standard. I still think he's close.

Not sure about beautiful men. George Michael was pretty when he was young but not anymore. Paul Walker was very nice looking. Chris Hemsworth is, too.

She was lovely, wasn't she? I think she's still an attractive older woman. A little cosmetic surgery.and botox but not as much as many have done.

I don't know about beauty but I find Johnny Depp and Ben Stiller incredibly sexy men! I guess so, but classic beauties they are not. Johnny's had some cosmetics work done and it helped but it didn't work miracles. Ben is a little short guy and not a pretty boy by a long shot. Classical beauty is like Princess Grace. and maybe Harry Belafonte when he was a young man.

lol The more I look at photos of humans ... looking for actual beauty .. the more I'm aware of how funny looking people actually are. The Kardasian sisters have had large numbers of surgeries, seeking perfection, and they're sitll far from their goal. It seems to be all they really do of interest. Shallow indeed. .

I could point to some older guys as well - in their prime anyway!
Burt Reynolds
Dustin Hoffman
Jack Nicholson
Howard Keel
Leslie Nielsen

Lin, I don't see classic beauty there - and that's what we're talking about ... not who you fancy. Well, maybe Howard Keel or Leslie Nielsen My brother played a round or 2 of golf with Nielsen in the late 80s. Found him to be a very unassuming, likable guy.
