Sounds like things are coming together very well, Sugi. I'm so happy for you.
Leaving early tonight. The rain cooled things off and it's a good night to sleep.

Speak for yourself, Temp. If I'm going to spend time in water, it'd better be a nice warm shower. I did walk about 20 minutes a bit ago and did exercises afterward. Ice, right now. The rain took the humidity out of the air (duh) and it smells wonderful outside - new mown grass and flowers. I refer you to my earlier post on my adventures in the wilderness with various novices. "I forgot my coat. What do I do...?" "Get wet. Obviously..." Of course, you then discover that other instructions to bring a complete skin-out change of clothes and a towel and leave them in the car have also been "forgotten," too... I always get a laugh when I think about long treks involving overnight tenting moments from my younger, more adventurous days. All the townies accustomed to hot showers and two sets of clothes a day would stuff their rucksacks with loads of changes of clothes and underwear, as if there wasn't enough to lug around with stove, food, tent, sleeping bag, rollmat, water, personal safety/survival gear, map and compass and so on. Me, borrowing from military doctrine again, would follow the "wet/dry set" clothing principle. The wet set is for getting all sweaty, muddy and rained on on the hike and the dry set is to change into to be comfortable in camp, leaving the wet stuff to air out/dry out under the "eaves" of the tent. Okay, it's a bit uncomfortable pulling slightly damp stuff back on in the morning (especially crispy socks!) and for an hour or so thereafter but it does leave a nice relatively light rucksack and it's nice to be able to stand up straight and not need to find an appropriately qualified Thai girl to walk up and down all over you come the end of the weekend! These days, though, even I prefer one-day expeditions and a return to the hot water tank and duvet at the end of it! Besides, too many people report waking up to find rather large feline paw prints around their camps these days - I've got a thing about being eaten by someone's abandoned exotic pet! Some of my townie mates would sometimes manage to line their rucksacks with a binbag before packing it, too. Really, I'm surprised some of them survived childhood! Bit of rain never hurt anyone, though. If your skin's not waterproof enough there's always Goretex.

I've done my share of camping, Temp ... mostly in the Great Smokies. Amazing to me I survived when my idea of roughing it is accommodations with no room service. I've always been in awe of people who strike out on the Appalachian Trail. Don't they know there are bear out there? ... and not a Yogi in the lo!!

We have butterflies now and then but I've seen very few bees in the past several years. Enjoy *(and I know you will)!

Don't know....I had just been by there......and happened to need to go back......so I know it hadn't been there long.....saw it lift it's head up......and there was no way I could leave it.......had to dodge some traffic....and luckily she ended up in between two lanes..........no matter even if it doesn't make it....I would rather it be humane....then run over again or suffering.....said the leg was broken up near the hip.....but nothing internal....said it was anemic........we are outside of the city limits........lowlifes tend to dump animals outside the city.....really have no idea........karma though.......those people will get what is coming to them some time....some place.
